DWAB’s “A Very Well Calculated Lack of Cohesion” is almost exactly that…. “Almost” because the “very well calculated” part is a bit misleading. Very seldom are DWAB projects well planned, and often, the ones that are planned are never executed as was planned.

The Amy Songs
Originally I was going to call this CD “Acoustic Sketches,” but as I was putting it together, Amy came into the room and jokingly asked, “Are these the Amy songs?” “Yes,” I said. “It’s just a few of them though….” And suddenly, my whole idea about the CD changed.
Rarities
Hmmm… A CD of DWAB “rarities.” These are songs that have been floating around for some time, left (perhaps very wisely) un-released. Most of these songs have been re-recorded to sound much better than what’s on this CD. So, why then go on and release a CD of inferior recordings when much better versions exist? [...]

For those of you who don’t get the cover/title reference, the John Lyons Sessions is a take-off on the John Peel Sessions. Anyone with an ounce of sense who wanted to get a good recording of their stuff at a decent price went to John Lyons.
